The Town of Naples Marine Safety Division will be hosting a

Boaters Safety Education & Certification Course

Saturday, May 18, 2024

9:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Location:  Naples Town Office. Cost:  $40.

 ****Nomination Papers for Public Elections****

Municipal elections for our public officials are governed under M.R.S.A. 30-A. Our local elected officials are Select Board, School Committee, Planning Board, and Budget Committee. The Select Board appoints all other positions on boards or committees.

The Naples Town Election will take place Tuesday, June 11, 2024. Nomination Papers were available effective Monday, February 12, 2024 at the Naples Town Office for the following positions:

  • Select Board:  Three-year term (2 openings)
  • Planning Board:  Three-year term (2 openings)
  • Budget Committee:  Three-year term (2 openings)
  • SAD 61:  Three-year term (1 opening)
  • Transfer Station Council:  Three-year term (2 openings)

Completed papers must be returned to the Naples Town Office no later than the close of business Thursday, April 11, 2024. Please contact the clerks at 207-693-6364 during normal business hours for

Annual Election – Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at the Naples Town Offices, 15 Village Green Ln.

Nomination Papers Available – The Town Clerk will have nomination papers available not more than 100 days prior to the election day.

Nomination Papers Deadline – The Town Clerk must have the signed nomination papers in her/his hands no later than 60 days before the election day. 

Signatures Required – In towns of over 500 residents, a candidate will need not less than 25 nor more than 100 signatures. (It is recommended to get at least 35 signatures in case some of the signatures are not registered voters in Naples.)

Submission of Nomination Papers – The candidate must sign the Consent portion on the nomination papers, indicating that the candidate will not withdraw from the race and will qualify for the office if elected. The circulator must sign the oath of qualified voters.

Circulators of Nomination Papers –

A person requesting papers need not be a candidate or an agent of a candidate.
A candidate can circulate several sets of papers for the same office.
A candidate can, if desired, circulate papers for more than one office.
A person can circulate papers for several candidates for several different offices.

Any Person Who Signs a Nomination Paper –

A voter can sign as many nomination papers for different candidates and offices as they wish.
A voter does not have to vote for the candidate for which they signed a nomination paper.

 **Parking Ban**

From November 2023 to April 2024, between the hours of 11:00 pm and 6:00 am, there will be no parking on public roads and lots within the Town of Naples. This restriction is necessary to facilitate efficient snow plowing and removal. Vehicles will be towed at the owner's expense.

 **Mailboxes**

Mailboxes are in the right of way by permission of the municipality and, if damaged, there is no legal entitlement to replacement or payment.
